"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers"

My favourite thing about fall is the colours of the changing leaves and having a reason to stay all cozy inside working on my crafting! In addition to cardmaking, I also love knitting. So as soon as I saw this adorable stamp from Trinity Stamps I knew I had to have it! This stamp is called Made with Love and it is the cutest! I love the dog!
Step by step instructions
To start off with, I stamped the main image from the Made with Love stamp set onto a cardstock panel and a scrap of masking paper. Next I fussy cut the image out of the masking paper and used it to mask of the image. I also used more masking paper to mask off a frame around the cardstock panel. I cut a frame from masking paper using a rectangle die for this project but you could easily just use memo tape instead since it is just straight lines. Having the image extend past the masked off frame helps add interest and dimension to the card design.
Next I stencilled on some trees using the Layered Birch Stencils with a brown ink. This stencil set also has a layer which adds falling leaves which I did in shades of yellow and orange. I also blended the yellow and orange inks all over the masked off square to get a nice vibrant fall backdrop. After all this ink blending was done I removed the masks from the frame and the image.
To colour the image I used my Ohuhu alcohol markers in some warm shades plus a pop of blue for the scarf and dog's hat. For the sentiment, I initially heat embossed it in white directly onto the background but I found it didn't stand out enough. So I changed it up and heat embossed the sentiment onto black cardstock to create sentiment strips I adhered over-top of where I initially put the sentiment.
I finished off by adding some Golden Glass embellishments to add a bit of sparkle plus some white gel pen highlights here and there.
I hope you enjoyed reading about how I created this card, if you did make sure to leave me a comment below.
