Making a Simple Tri-Fold card for the February Inspiration Station Challenge
Hello everyone! I'm back to share a fun card I created for the February instalment of the Inspiration Station Challenge.
The Inspiration Station Challenge: February
The Inspiration Station Challenge is a monthly challenge for all types of crafty projects. It starts the first Monday of each month and runs to the end of the month. Each month there is a new image to use for inspiration and it is a perfect way to jump start you creativity!
You can find all the details and link up your projects to play along on the Inspiration Station Challenge Blog!
Making my Card
I decided to create a bit of a different card for a change this month and made an A2 tri-fold card. Because I don't have cardstock large enough to create a tri-fold card in one piece, I simply created two normal A2 cardbases and glued them together to make the tri-fold. This is a very simple way of creating a tri-fold and it is my go-to technique.
I wanted to have a fun window design on my card so I cut a window using the 2.5" Connected Squares Shaker Creator Die in the front of one of the cardbases before I glued them together to create the tri-fold. Then I stamped a little flower meadow scene with the Wild Flower Grass layering stamp set on a separate piece of cardstock to go on my inside panel. You could stamp this directly on the inner flap of the tri-fold but I like to work on a different piece of cardstock just in case I mess up or want to change something.
After stamping the scene I added a sentiment from the Happiest Day stamp set. I also stamped a sentiment on the outside flap of the card before putting the card together. Next I stamped and cut out some butterflies from the Mini Delight: Butterfly Dreams stamp set and added them to the upper left corner of the window to finish off my card.
I have tried to embed a video to show how the card opens, hopefully Blogger will play nice with me and it works! All finished! I think having the tri-fold window design was a fun way to elevate a pretty simple card design. I hope you are inspired to join us at the Inspiration Station Challenge this month!
Supplies
A wonderful way to make a tri-fold, I'm the same and don't really keep heavy weight 12x12 paper so this is my go to as well. Another lovely card Alexandra, thanks so much for your Inspiration Station Team project!
