Making the card
I knew I wanted to have a bunny on my card to tie in with the inspiration image for this month so I started by stamping the bunny from the Woodland Critters stamp set onto some white cardstock with alcohol marker friendly ink. Next I used my Ohuhu alcohol markers to colour the bunny and I fussy cut it out after I was finished colouring. See the next image for all the markers I used for my colouring.
For the background, I started by masking off the bottom third of my cardfront panel and then ink blending with Distress Inks. I used the colours Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, and Peacock Feathers for my blend. Then I stamped over the ink blending using Rustic Wilderness ink and the Plant Happy Thoughts stamp set.
While I had my inks and the stamp set out I stamped the inside of the card. I used the same three Distress Inks I used for my ink blended background to do some gradient stamping on the inside of the card.
Next I die cut my background panel with the larges die in the Wavy Pierced Rectangles die set. After die cutting, I stamped the sentiment onto the bottom of the panel with black ink. I used one of the sentiments from the Swanky Sentiments: Birthday stamp set because I always need more birthday cards in my stash!
To finish the card I adhered the background to my cardbase with some foam tape and then popped up the bunny with foam squares. For embellishment I used some butterfly gems I had in my stash as well as some small gems so that it looks like the bunny is watching the butterflies.
