Practicing my No-Line Colouring for the November Inspiration Station Challenge

Hello everyone! I have a cute note card project to share with you that I created for this month's Inspiration Station Challenge. I hope it inspires you!

The Inspiration Station Challenge: November

This month's inspiration image features a beautiful field of poppies. I don't have any poppy stamps in my stash shockingly so I decided to incorporate the red by using a cute mushroom image for my card. If you would like to join in with the challenge you can head over to the Inspiration Station Challenge blog to link up you projects for a chance to win a prize!

My Project

For my project I started by stamping the cute mouse image with Fadeout No-line Coloring ink from Ink on 3 onto some Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used a waterproof black pen to trace the eyes and whiskers so they wouldn't get lost once I started painting. Then I used my Watercolor Brush Pens from Ohuhu to add colour the image. I find the brush pens easier to work with than regular watercolour especially for no-line colouring because you have a bit more control. I like to trace along the stamped line with the brush pen and then blend it out with a waterbrush. After the colouring was done and dried I just fussy cut out the image so I could pop it up with foam tape. I also added some more spots to the mushroom with white gouache.

For the background I used an A2 rectangle stencil and ink blended with the Harbour and Avocado ink from Concord and 9th to create the sky and grass. I also used a grass stencil from my stash and added a darker layer of Avocado to create some grass. I did this ink blending directly onto my A2 cardbase so to finish the card all I did was add the fussy cut image to the front of my card. I decided to leave it as a plain note card without a sentiment because I like having some cards in my stash I can use for a variety of occasions.

I hope you enjoyed reading how I created this card!
