Art Journal page for the August Inspiration Station
Hello everyone and welcome to August edition of the Inspiration Station Challenge!
This month's challenge features this beautiful sunflower filled image so of course I had to go with a sunflower theme.

Making my project
I have been trying to switch up my project types recently because I have way too many cards in my stash that I will never get around to giving out. It is honestly stressing me out a bit to have so many boxes of cards that I don't need so I'm working on trying different paper crafts to let me still be crafty and creative but not create so many cards.
I decided to try my hand at creating an art journal type page with song lyrics for today's project and while it was surprisingly more challenging than card making, I still really enjoyed it!
I used a Stamptember stamp set by Clearly Besotted and Simon Says Stamp for the images and then masked them off so I could ink blend a circle around them. I used my Ohuhu alcohol markers to colour the images and then added details with Grabie acrylic markers. As I'm looking at the finished image now, I'm pretty sure I originally intended to colour the grass stalks to be wheat but I clearly forgot that when I was in the middle of colouring and decided they had to be giant lavender!
I used an additional circle die to trace a circle in pencil around the scene so I could write out some of the lyrics from a Maisie Peters song called There It Goes. Hand lettering is not something I've done very much so I kept it very simple.. and still managed to mess it up lol. But I think I was able to salvage it and it didn't turn out too bad considering.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my project for this month's challenge. Make sure to head on over to the Inspiration Station Blog to link up your own projects and play along with us!
